“You are pioneers of the liberty of your race. With the United States cap on your head, the United States eagle on your belt, the United States musket on your shoulder, not all the powers of darkness can prevent you from becoming American citizens.” Speech by Frederick Douglass to the men of the 29th Connecticut.
As we reflect on the importance of service to our country, I would like to give thanks to the men and women who gave their lives for freedom, and applaud those who continue to serve our country. Thank You.
Pvt. Webb

“Freedom! Sounds Good. Sounds Nice. Got to be Free!!
With that, I would like to say thanks again to all of those men and women who died for freedom. Speaking of freedom, September was Freedom Trail month and many exciting events were held commemorating the sites that led to freedom. When you have a chance, visit the Museum of Connecticut History and see the Freedom Trail Quilts on display.
