“You are pioneers of the liberty of your race. With the United States cap on your head, the United States eagle on your belt, the United States musket on your shoulder, not all the powers of darkness can prevent you from becoming American citizens.”  Speech by Frederick Douglass to the men of the 29th Connecticut.

As we reflect on the importance of service to our country, I would like to give thanks to the men and women who gave their lives for freedom, and applaud those who continue to serve our country. Thank You.
